Iβm a computational social scientist developing and applying new methods and measures to large collections of multimodal data sources (text, audio, video). I use these data sources to study substantial questions from new angles and perspectives.
Currently, a post doc at Aarhus University (π©π°), Department of Political Science, working on projects related to the new audit of power and democracy in Denmark, βMagtudredningen 2.0β, led by Professor Michael Bang Petersen. I defended my PhD, βThe Sound of Politics: How Politicians Pitch Conflict, Representation, and Powerβ, in March 2025.
My research concerns how we as political scientists can leverage cutting-edge data sources (text corpora, audio or video recordings, and images) to provide new angles or answers to long-standing topics in political science. For example, my dissertation focuses on how politician change the sound of their voices to convey notions of political conflict, representation, and power.
Besides work, Iβm a sport enthusiast, watching soccer β½, cycling π΄π½, football π, baseball βΎ, hockey π, and lots of other sports, enjoy listening to music π΅, go spearfishing π¦π, or making sport myself. I live in Nordvest, Copenhagen, with my three favorite people: my wife Katrine and our two daughters Ingrid and Edith.
